1LT FRENCH POPE - Class of 2000
Sunday, APRIL 2, 2006
LOCATION: Afghanistan
Hello All,
How is everything going? I have been doing great, I just took over my platoon about 2 weeks ago and it is truly a blast. The platoon is great I have good NCOs ( the back bone of the army). Personally I have been doing well, I run all the time and get to lift every so often. With the responsibility of the platoon I have a lot less time to reply to emails.
I also got promoted yesterday to 1ST LT.
Teisha is doing really well, the baby will be here in june and I can't
wait:-) I should be home around the time the baby is due. Living here isn't bad, especially since it is tax free and free. I am really looking foward to coming home for leave in june and seeing some of you. Email me back some time.

CALVIN CYRUS - Class of 2004
Tuesday, MARCH 28, 2006
LOCATION: Hollywood, CA
After a brief stint at Morehouse College and Montgomery College, I decided to give college a break to pursue my dream of acting.
I live in Hollywood California right now. I'm currently in the middle of shooting my first movie called "All Lies on Me" co-starring Fredro Starr, most commonly known for his work on Moesha. I'm also in the middle of my first professional theatre production called "Sue Bazaar" co-starring ME. I am the lead.
Not often that a professional show casts a no-name for their leading role so I'm excited for that. I'm also a budding stand up comic here in L.A. I get the rare chance to learn and hangout on a nightly basis with names such as DeRay Davis, Corey Holcomb, Patrice O'neal, Carlos Mencia, Dov Davidoff and many more. So as far as my career is concerned, I am truly blessed.
One of the biggest things I've learned about being here in Hollywood is that you have to work for everything you want and that is one of the key things I took from my years in the program. So they don't lie when they say you can use the things you learn in football in everyday life. Ok that was my little rant. I'm off to study lines. Practice makes perfect.

Subject: Update From Afghanistan
What is going on? I have been deployed now for almost three months and contrary to popular belief, I am having a good time. I will be taking over my platoon of 20 men in a few days and I am very excited about leading them through our deployment.
They are much like a football team, they come from all different backgrounds to this one team to complete a very important mission. Don't for a second think that I lost a step, we play flag football every friday where I can show these guys the R2 button. Like usual, they kick the ball away from me but I am still having a lot of fun. One of the hardest things to get use to here is the elevation, 7000 plus feet about sea level, it will take the wind right out of you.
In my spare time i have been hitting the weights harder then ever, running, playing various card games, dominoes, and monopoly.
My wife, Teisha, is now back in Germantown. She is about four months pregnant and will have the baby in early June. I am expecting to come home around that time so I hope to see you all. Well I have to run to some meetings, I will catch yaw later.
